2019 Steak Fry

Water Works Park, Des Moines, IA
Greetings from sunny Polk County! On behalf of our Central Committee, I wanted to invite you and everyone else in your county to the Steak Fry on September 21 from noon to 4 at Water Works Park in Des Moines. Twenty-two presidential candidates have confirmed their attendance to speak. Like the last few years, they’ll be there to mingle in the crowd and will likely be hosting their own events in town that day.

We expect several thousand people, so we will be opening the gates at 10 a.m. to let people get their seats and meet their fellow Democrats. For the first time ever, we’ll be offering a vegan option in addition to our world-famous steak and chicken.

We expect a lot of media to be in attendance as well. The Daily Show has let us know that they’ll be there. C-SPAN will be broadcasting the entire day live nationwide. We’ll also have coverage from all the major national media outlets.

The Steak Fry is always intended to be an event that’s accessible for all Democrats. We’re proud that we’re still able to offer ticket prices for everyone at $35 per person at Kids always eat free. Although Senator Harkin warned us that this can be an expensive event to host, we feel it’s important to make sure that it’s still at a price point that most everyone can afford.
